
Meet Dr. Robyn
Dr. Robyn Welk-Richards, PhD, LCSW, CEDS-C is the Founder and Executive Director of the Wisconsin Eating Disorder Education and Community Foundation (WEDEC). With over 20 years of experience in the field, she specializes in the compassionate, evidence-based treatment of eating disorders in adolescents, adults, and families. Her approach is rooted in authenticity, mindfulness, creativity, and a deep respect for the lived experience of each individual she serves.
Throughout her career, Dr. Welk-Richards has held leadership appointments across multiple levels of care, helping to design, develop, and guide programming that is ethical, inclusive, and recovery-focused. Her work has spanned residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings, allowing her to bring a comprehensive and systems-informed perspective to both clinical care and organizational leadership.
Through WEDEC, Dr. Welk-Richards is dedicated to expanding access to education, strengthening professional mentorship, and building community-centered support systems that promote healing, advocacy, and hope for individuals and families impacted by eating disorders in Wisconsin and beyond.
